Born in Soweto and raised up by the fast paced streets of Johannesburg city, Lwandi Mbebe has had an amazing journey in life so far, and what he calls a "continual osmosis" in the fields of creative media. Having started a rock band, Unlisted, at the age of 15, sharing the stage with some of South Africa and the worlds best musicians, Lwandi decided to pursue his love for the visual media, and in particular film. With a mind fueled with images by great artists such as Dorethea Lange, Gordon Parks and Peter Magubane, the cinematic influences of David Fincher, Darren Aronofsky and Spike Jones, as well as the tutorship of Loedi Van Renen, Lwandi has made Cape Town his new home, with his main focus being the making music videos and short films that can be seen as individual works of art.
